Selling on Tinyverse
Send 3 to 10 clear photos of your item, your asking price, the condition, and your general location to Tinyverse on WhatsApp at 0790 784 084. We create your listing and advertise it across our social media pages and parent community groups. No account needed, no app to download.
Yes. Listing your item on Tinyverse is completely free. We charge no commission or listing fees. You set your own price and keep every shilling from the sale.
Once you send us your listing, Tinyverse posts it across our Instagram and Facebook pages as well as active parent community WhatsApp groups. These channels reach parents across Kenya who are actively looking for quality used kids items. You do not need to do any advertising yourself.
Take 3 to 10 photos from different angles in natural daylight. Show any wear or imperfections honestly. Good photos lead to faster sales and fewer disputes. See our full Seller’s Guide for detailed photo tips.
A general rule is 40 to 60 percent of the current retail price for good condition items. Items with visible wear should be closer to 40%. High-demand items like car seats and branded strollers may hold value better. Always check current retail prices, not what you paid years ago.
If your item is not attracting interest, the most common reasons are price and photo quality. We may suggest adjusting the price or retaking photos in better light. We can also re-post your listing across our channels. If you want to withdraw the item, just let us know on WhatsApp.
We accept baby gear, clothing, toys, car seats with no accident history, bicycles, school items, kids furniture, books, and learning materials. We do not accept broken, recalled, or accident-involved items, heavily worn clothing, or mattresses. See the full list on our Seller’s Guide.
Buying through Tinyverse
Follow Tinyverse on Instagram at @mytinyverse_official to see available items as they are listed. You can also WhatsApp us at 0790 784 084 to ask about specific items — for example, “Do you have any car seats available in Nairobi?” and we will let you know what is currently listed.
Yes. Once a seller responds to your enquiry, you negotiate directly with them on WhatsApp. Tinyverse does not set prices — sellers do. Some sellers are open to reasonable offers, others have firm prices. Be respectful in your approach.
Yes, and we strongly encourage it. Always inspect the item before making payment. Arrange to meet the seller in a safe public location where you can check the item carefully. Do not pay before you are satisfied with the condition.
Inspect the item carefully before paying. If the item does not match the description at the meetup, you are not obligated to complete the purchase. If you experience a significant issue, let us know on WhatsApp and we will do our best to assist.
Payment
Payment is made directly between the buyer and seller via M-Pesa or cash at the point of handover. Tinyverse does not hold or handle funds for marketplace transactions. The seller receives payment directly.
Gift set orders require a 30% deposit via M-Pesa to our Till Number 5002337 (Tinyverse Solutions) to confirm your order. Personalisation and packing begin after deposit confirmation. The remaining 70% is paid on delivery.
Yes. M-Pesa is the most widely used and trusted payment method in Kenya. For marketplace transactions, always wait for the M-Pesa confirmation SMS on your own phone before handing over any item. Do not trust screenshots shown on a buyer’s phone screen.
Listing your item is completely free. Tinyverse does not charge sellers any commission or listing fees. The only payments we process directly are gift set deposits and balances.
Safety
Tinyverse is parent to parent, meaning every transaction is a direct interaction between two real families. The vast majority of transactions are smooth and straightforward. We provide safety guidelines for all sellers and encourage meeting in public, inspecting items before paying, and confirming M-Pesa before handing over goods.
Always meet in a public, well-lit location such as a petrol station, shopping centre car park, or other busy public area. Avoid inviting buyers to your home for a first transaction. Meet during daylight hours when possible and let someone know where you are going.
If a confirmed buyer stops responding or fails to show up, let Tinyverse know and we will keep your listing active. If you are a buyer and a seller is unresponsive, contact us and we will do our best to follow up on your behalf.
Personalised Gift Sets
Tinyverse offers four personalised back-to-school gift sets: The First Day Set for PP1–PP2, The Growing Learner for Grade 1–3, The Upper Primary Set for Grade 4–6, and The Secondary Starter for Form 1–2. Each set comes in a Starter and Premium tier. See full details at mytinyverse.com/gifts.
When you order, you provide your child’s name. Tinyverse prints or labels the name on key items within the set such as the pencil case and notebook cover. Personalisation begins after your deposit is confirmed.
Sets are personalised and packed within 24 hours of deposit confirmation. Delivery across Nairobi typically takes 48 to 72 hours after packing is complete. If you need delivery by a specific date, please mention this in your order message.
We currently deliver gift sets across Nairobi and surrounding areas. For orders from outside Nairobi, please WhatsApp us at 0790 784 084 to discuss delivery options and any additional charges.
